Reno police arrested a man suspected of open murder in the deadly beating of a man in his home last year, according to the Reno Police Department.
Michael Woods, 42, was initially arrested by Reno police on Nov. 8 on burglary and battery charges.
On the evening of Nov. 7, police say they responded to the 600 block of Kuenzli Street near downtown Reno where a man was battered inside of his home.
The man died later that day from injuries sustained in the incident. Reno police have declined to identify the victim, citing the ongoing investigation.
Detectives soon identified Woods as a suspect, arresting him the following day.
Woods remained in custody at the Washoe County Detention Facility, and police announced open murder charges Friday.
According to police, the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department’s non-emergency line at 775-334-2188 or contact Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
