Authorities ID 62-year-old as victim of shooting reportedly between neighbors in February

Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a Reno shooting that reportedly stemmed from an ongoing dispute between neighbors in February.

Leroy Souza, 62, of Reno, died at the scene at the Rosewood Apartments on Mira Loma Drive on Feb. 14,  the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office announced Wednesday. The cause of death was multiple gunshot and shotgun wounds.

The manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

Police responded to a report of multiple shots fired at approximately 8:30 p.m. Feb.14 in the 4500 block of Mira Loma Drive. 

Two neighbors had firearms and shot at each other, leaving one dead, police have said. Officers learned that the men had been involved in an ongoing dispute. 

Reno police have not announced any arrests in the shooting.
