NOW Foods, a supplement and health food company, has confirmed three employees who work at their manufacturing facility in Sparks have tested positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson for the company said the first two employees tested positive on April 13, which triggered a full evacuation and disinfection of the facility.
Employees were sent home with pay and benefits while the facility was cleaned by a professional company. Anyone who had contact with those two infected employees were sent home for at least a 14-day self quarantine with full pay and benefits.
The third employee who tested positive was one of the employees sent home on that 14-day quarantine. They tested positive on April 21.
That employee had not returned to work since they were sent home on April 13.
The facility has reopened, and employees are required to pass a temperature screening before the enter the building. Anyone with an elevated temperature will be sent home.
The company has also increased the frequency that common areas are sanitized and disinfected, all international and domestic travel has been canceled and social distancing measures have been implemented, according to the spokesperson.
